After his first surf session in Peniche, back in the 80s, Carlos was hooked and started surfing every day during his yearly summer holidays in the Azores. At the time, Portugal had no surf schools, so he taught himself to surf through trial and error.

Carlos has lived and surfed in many different places, including California, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua, just to name a few. To Carlos, surfing is a soul sport - he is more interested in having the biggest blast from every wave he catches than winning competitions or having the latest board.

"Surfing is about having fun"

Carlos started teaching people to surf around 2012 and has worked for several different schools, teaching hundreds of people from all over the world. His passion is showing surfers all the best surf spots on the Atlantic Coast of Portugal.
